Seats for Forklifts Norfolk

Seats for Forklifts Norfolk - The City of Norfolk is the 2nd-biggest city in the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the USA. Norfolk has a population of around 242,803 inhabitants. The city is the primary independent city and amongst the oldest in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area, which comprises seven counties and eight other cities. Hampton Roads is unusual when it comes to its political structure of independent cities. Norfolk is also the name of the large harbor at the mouth of Chesapeake Bay, that lies to the north of the city. Norfolk is partially surrounded by water. Towards the west lies the Elizabeth River. Virginia Beach lies towards the east and the City of Chesapeake lies to the south. Norfolk is the urban center of the region - a cultural, financial, military and historic center.

The city has historically served as an important military and transportation point. It serves as the head office for NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The Norfolk Naval Base is the largest naval base in the globe. Norfolk Southern Railway corporate headquarters are situated here, as is Maersk Line, Limited, providing flag transportation and ship management. An extensive network of Interstate highways, bridges and tunnels connects Norfolk to the rest of the metro cities.

In the year 1619, the Virginia Colony governor established four incorporations, referred to as citties, that will form the basis for colonial representative government within the House of Burgesses, the continent's first assembly of elected representatives of English colonists. The area that will later be called the City of Norfolk was put under the Elizabeth Cittie incorporation.

The city of Norfolk has a large amount of riverfront and bayfront property. These waterways have been essential for trades across the Mid-Atlantic, Mid-West and even internationally. Chesapeake Bay's deep-water channels are a major trade artery and site for the US Navy.

In addition to being a cultural and commercial center, the metro area is a major military center. Norfolk is home to Naval Station Norfolk, located within the city's northwest corner on Sewell's Point Peninsula. In addition to being the headquarters of the United States Fleet Forces Command, the Station is the headquarters of the Allied Command Transformation and the United States Joint Forces Command, and home port for the Second Fleet. The fleet consists of 75 ships and 132 aircraft.
