The Mayfair Festival of the Arts was established during 1986 in order to help promote the arts and crafts within the region. The event is currently held annually during the month of May at Cedar Beach Park. The Great Allentown Fair is held in early month of September of each year on the Allentown Fairgrounds. This event has been celebrated ever since the year 1889. During the year 1852, the very first Allentown Fair was hosted. This fair was held at the "Old Allentown Fairgrounds" between 1852 and 1899. The grounds were located between 6th and 5th Streets north of Liberty Street. In addition, every year, the J. Birney Crum Stadium plays host to the Collegiate Marching Band Festival and other competitions. This Festival has been another local event since the year 1995.
